I've been thinking about this for awhile now, and I've realized I need to go in a slightly different direction with my Caliypsoe story. (I really do need to come up with a name to call this "project". I'm still working on that...)
I've decided to take the story in a more stylized direction. These characters and story have been with me for a long time and when I was younger, I had no sense of genre or style whatsoever. I've always been drawing these characters in a very bland, fantasy style and I really think that needs to change. (I was VERY tempted to change Caliypsoe's name while I was doing this. I love the name, don't misunderstand me, but it's obvious this name was thought of by a pre-teen. It'll stay Caliypsoe for now...)
Lately, I've been noticing there are a LOT of Steampunk elements to the story. (I know, I keep teasing you with this "story" without actually delivering any plot, I promise that too will change soon!) It seems the only thing that's behind with the Steampunk genre is the clothing design and the way I draw my characters. So I've decided I'm going to start making an effort to bring more style into Caliypsoe's world. This is mainly a choice for artistic growth's sake and I hope everyone understands and embraces this change. The character's personalities aren't changing; just appearances.
