I'm finally getting around to posting fanart from my favorite musical!

"Elisabeth" is about the life and death of Empress Elisabeth of Austria. This picture is the finale scene, "Der Schleier fällt" (The Veil Descends) (Song with subtitles here --> [link])
It's a bit hard to explain this musical, but basically the whole show, Elisabeth is stalked by her death (der Tod) who tries to seduce her into dying to join him. In the final scene he gives her his kiss of death when she is assassinated and, (it varies from production to production,) this is the generally the last thing seen before the curtain falls.

It is narrated from beyond the grave by Luigi Lucheni, the Italian anarchist who assassinated her in 1893.
