Artist's Comments

This is for a technology project. My group decided to create a short film and this is part of the poster. (~EpiceEmilie is part of the group.)

Hugs to: :iconmarbri: :iconlatenightlady: for giving me great critique. :glomp:

I am by no means an artist when it comes to this, however, just in my opinion, i would say the colors do not blend well, perhaps it is the shade you use.

The watermakr makes it difficult but the figure to the left looks good, the shading looks good, the other two are off. If the light (on the middle) is coming from straight ahead, there wouldn't be shade lines on her right leg (right as in me looking at it - my right). Her left leg looks ok.

On your right figure, if the sun is coming from the left, you wouldn't have the shade line that thick on her right leg. Is this making sense?

The light should be coming from all the same direction.

Hope I helped.

Basically the shading on the figure to the left is grand. The other two need a bit of tweaking. Both their right legs and arms. I would put a light source to the left and an object in front to see where the shade lines fall.

Realize this comes from a person who cannot draw well.

Watermark off. :)

Thank you! It makes perfect sense and definitely helpful. :) You're right, I need to get the lighting straight.

Ooh, the color scheme is nice! The shading turned out well, too.

with shading, i think you just have to figure out where your light source is, and stick with it. i can tell there are a couple places where the light source is a bit ambiguous. it helps me to make a separate layer and draw a yellow circle or arrows where the light is so i can know where to put the shadows. also, it might look good to add some highlights.

i hope this helps :)

Thanks, yes it does. :D Especially about the highlights, I probably should add some in.
